Adaptive Block-based Light Field Coding
A compression scheme is presented that has been designed to e ciently code light elds. Based on video compression techniques, the light eld image array is divided into image blocks. Di erent block-coding modes have been devised to exploit redundancy between images over a wide range of target bit rates. Prediction from multiple reference images further enhance coding e ciency. Rate-constrained m...
متن کاملLight - front field theory of hot and dense quark matter ∗
Extending the concepts of light-front field theory to quantum statistics provides a novel approach towards nuclear matter under extreme conditions. Such conditions exist, e.g., in neutron stars or in the early stage of our universe. They are experimentally expected to occur in heavy ion collisions, e.g., at RHIC and accelerators to be build at GSI and CERN. Light-front field theory is particula...
متن کاملLocal-field approach to the interaction of an ultracold dense Bose gas with a light field
The propagation of the electromagnetic field of a laser through a dense Bose gas is examined and nonlinear operator equations for the motion of the center of mass of the atoms are derived. The goal is to present a self-consistent set of coupled Maxwell-Bloch equations for atomic and electromagnetic fields generalized to include the atomic center-of-mass motion. Two effects are considered: The u...
متن کاملProbabilistic Super Dense Coding
We explore the possibility of performing super dense coding with non-maximally entangled states as a resource. Using this we find that one can send two classical bits in a probabilistic manner by sending a qubit. We generalize our scheme to higher dimensions and show that one can communicate 2 log2 d classical bits by sending a d-dimensional quantum state with a certain probability of success. ...
متن کاملDense Coding Based on
We analyse the Bennett-Wiesner dense quantum coding scheme for non-maximally entangled carriers of information. Our generalisation shows that the detection scheme proposed by Bennett and Wiesner is optimal even when the entanglement is not perfect. We comment on the optical realisation of the scheme.
